Staff

Caregivers and staff at Yarmouth Day Care have more than 50 years of combined experience working in the early childcare field with strong backgrounds in teaching and childhood development.

Our caregivers are CPR and first aid certified and attend many continuing education programs to keep abreast of trends in the early childcare field.

Melissa

Melissa Stinchcomb, Director

Melissa joined YDC in 2013. She brings several years experience working as a childcare provider, having worked within the school district as well as daycare settings. She has worked with multiple ages in many different settings. She loves to engage the children with hands on activities, to teach and interact with them and explore the world around them. When Melissa is not at YDC, she can be found spending time with her husband and two children.


Melinda

Melinda Turner, Caregiver

Melinda has been a fixture at Yarmouth Day Care for many years. Appointed Director in late 2011, she is responsible for programming daily activities, arranging for enrichment programs and for the overall day-to-day operations of the daycare. Melinda delights in seeing babies start at YDC and helping them grow and discover their independence and individual personalities. Melinda has worked in the childcare field for nearly 20 years, serving as a caregiver at other childcare centers and also as a private nanny. She is CPR and first-aid certified.



Andrea

Andrea Williams, Preschool Teacher/Caregiver

Andrea has 15 years experience working with children as a Lead Teacher and a Nanny. She has experience creating and implementing curriculum as well. I feel as if I have found my calling! She is pursuing her degree in education, while working at Yarmouth Daycare. A little extra information about her…She has a associates degree in criminal justice loves to spend time with her family. She enjoys to crochet, read and color and an avid Dr. Who fan!


Susan

Susan Magoon, Part Time Caregiver

Susan has been caring for children at Yarmouth Day Care for nearly 5 years. Susan holds an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and has attended various seminars in subjects from early childhood education, reading, to therapeutic communication. Susan served as special education technician at the Junior/senior high school for more than 10 years, as well as at the Behavioral Technical Community Care system of Maine and the Hear Me Now School for Deaf Children. Susan’s favorite times with the children are when they gain self-awareness of their own special and unique qualities. She also loves to incorporate nature and science into the programming at YDC – like creating a big storm with fans and Thunder Tubes – sharing her own awe of the natural world with the children.



Susan

Susan Roehner Longley, Caregiver

After graduating from Michigan State University, Susan spent many years in Public Relations, Event Planning and Staff Relation. While her children were home, she worked in long term subbing and teaching as an Ed Tech III in a private school. After her four children and two step children graduated from college, they now live in Maine, Boston and Brooklyn!  She now is working happily for Yarmouth Daycare and as a caretaker/grandmother. Her interests are art, painting, hiking, gardening, reading and fashion.



Kelli

Kelli Perrier, Caregiver

Kelli is a resident of Yarmouth. She is married and raised two sons here. She has owned her own daycare and worked in the school system until her children grew older.  She enjoys gardening, reading, camping and spending time with her family. Kelli truly loves working with children and feel very blessed to be a part of Yarmouth Daycare!
